Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana in October 2023 to provide additional financial support to farmers in Maharashtra. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families get the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi along with an additional amount of Rs 60000 annually distributed in three equal installments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the 5th installment of the Namo Shetkari Yojana on 5 October 2024, bringing additional financial support to farmers in Maharashtra. This installment includes an additional Rs 2000 crore allocated to boost the benefits of the scheme. Under the program, small and marginal farmers in the state receive an annual assistance of Rs 6000 distributed in three equal installment, in addition to the Rs 6000 provided by the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.

- Under this scheme, eligible farmers will get Rs 2000 in every installment, just like the PM Kisan Yojana.
- Farmers enrolled in the PM Kisan Yojana get additional financial support under NSMNY, giving them at total benefit of Rs 12000 per year (Rs 6000 from pm Kisan and Rs 6000 from NSMNY).
