Objective for PM Janman Yojana
PM Janman Yojana has been started by the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. The main objective of this scheme is to benefit the weaker tribal groups and to ensure their economic and social welfare. A budget of Rs 24000 crore has been set by the prime minister for the operation of this scheme. Through this scheme, the economic condition and social development of the week tribal people of the country will improve and they will be able to become self reliant.

- Under this scheme, poor and backward settlements will be converted into safe housing.
- Clean drinking water will be provided to the beneficiaries.
- Employment opportunities will be provided along with education, electricity, roads, health, nutrition, telecommunication connectivity for poor tribes.
- Dhan Vikas Kendra will be established. This will boost the dhan upaj trade.
- Off -grid solar energy systems and solar street lights will be installed for 1 lakh houses.
Salient Features of PM Janman Yojana
- Solar home lighting system (SHLS)-Scattered an electricified households in PVTG areas will get free installation of SHLS with LED bulbs and fans along with own site maintenance for five years.
- Solar mini grid-PVTG housing clusters will benefit from solar mini grids, consisting of appropriate capacity for each household, battery bank, distribution lines and appliances such as LED bulbs and fans. The ministry provides CFA support of up to Rs 50000 to each an electrified household covered under the mini grid.
- Solarisation of multi purpose centers-identified MPCs lacking grid connectivity will be electrified through off grid solar power packs, with the ministry providing CFA of up to Rs 1 lakh per year MPC, covering the cost of the entire system.
